Quiet Resilience

Wuhan is one of China's largest cities, home to more than ten million people. These photographs were made in winter, in districts that were being demolished to make way for apartment towers. Buildings disappeared street by street. Many residents stayed, and daily life went on. There was a quiet resilience in simply staying and carrying on.
